Sozo Collectiv Community of Practice

The Sozo Community of Practice (CoP) is a living, ongoing space for faith leaders, community health advocates, and organizational practitioners who have completed a Sozo cohort or joined the Sozo Fellows network — and who are ready to keep learning, keep sharing, and keep building alongside a community of peers who are doing the same work.
WHAT IS THE SOZO COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE?
It is a practitioner-led learning community — a space where people doing real work in real communities come together regularly to exchange strategies, solve problems, hear from experts, and sharpen one another. In the Sozo CoP, the curriculum is the collective. The most powerful lessons come not just from the facilitator, but from the fellow pastor in Atlanta who just launched her first health screening ministry, the CBO director in Chicago who figured out how to navigate his first MCO contract, or the lay leader in D.C. who found a way to make trauma-informed care accessible to his congregation.
The Sozo CoP is where the Roots–Rise–Reimagine framework moves from learning into living — and where the movement grows between conferences.
Access: Free for all Sozo Fellows and cohort graduates via learning platform
Format: Virtual — monthly live sessions with asynchronous community space
Community: Open to graduates of any Sozo cohort track.
The Problem the CoP Solves
Transformation does not happen in 8 weeks. Cohort participants leave equipped — but they return to complex, under-resourced environments where implementation is hard, momentum stalls, and isolation is real. The Sozo Community of Practice exists to close that gap.

It answers three questions that every practitioner eventually asks:
-
"I know what to do — but how do I actually do it in my context?"
-
"I'm stuck. Who else has faced this and figured it out?"
-
"Am I doing this right — and is it making a difference?"

The CoP provides the peer accountability, expert guidance, and shared wisdom that turns trained leaders into sustained changemakers.

Program Structure

The Sozo Community of Practice runs on a monthly rhythm organized around four rotating gathering formats. Each format serves a different learning purpose, ensuring that CoP sessions remain dynamic, relevant, and practitioner-centered.
