You were built to lead.
Not to
disappear.

You show up for your community, your congregation, your patients, your block — every single day. And most days, you carry all of it without blinking. But leaders who never rest don't just burn out — they disappear.

Founded by Dr. Angela Mott — a health systems scientist, global health strategist, and community health practitioner with over a decade of experience across managed care and nonprofit outreach — Sozo Collectiv exists at the intersection of faith, culture, and science to equip leaders who are ready to stop surviving their calling — and start leading from the inside out.

A Methodology Built for Transformation, Not Just Change

You are the source material for health transoformation in your community and The Sozo Framework is the backbone of everything Sozo Collectiv does. It is a three-stage methodology designed to move organizations from intention to impact — grounded in the meaning of Sozo itself: to be made whole.

Roots — Foundation & Identity Know who you are. Clarity of purpose and organizational identity is where every transformation begins.

Rise — Growth & Capacity Build what your mission demands. Develop the leadership, systems, and infrastructure to operate at the level your community deserves.

Reimagine — Systems Transformation See beyond your walls. Redesign the community health ecosystem around you so that wholeness becomes the norm, not the exception.

About the Founder

"I have a passion to support community based organizations move from charitable outreach to community transformation. My background includes working directly in underserved urban and rural communities which often included sick and chronically ill children and families. This shaped my belief that collective access to healthcare and health education is the key to individual well-being. I specialize in designing culturally grounded, scalable programs that center marginalized voices and community needs so that health equity and wholeness isn’t just a value, but a practice integrated in every layer of community health intervention."

Angela curates and facilitates workshops and curriculum that infuses health equity into local communities. Angela studied pre-med for her undergraduate degree at the University of South Florida. She also attained a BA in Public Policy, MA in African and African Diaspora Studies and Graduate Certificate in Women and Gender Studies from Florida International University, and obtained a Graduate Certificate of Fostering Organizational Diversity and Inclusion from Yale School of Management.

Upon learning more about community health disparities during her studies to obtain her nursing license, she pivoted from nursing to a focus on health systems and completed her Doctorate of Healthcare Sciences with a concentration in Global Health at Nova Southeastern University.

She grew up in culturally ethnic and racially diverse settings by virtue of her childhood military living experiences. Angela's diverse career experiences includes 10 + years in managed health care and non-profit management. She has also held previous roles as Director of Outreach, Youth Pastor and in non-profit leadership. She has facilitated programs for and mentored incarcerated women, school districts and designed social health screening trainings for rural villages in Africa. She draws her passion for accessible quality health and wellness resources from these experiences, and her faith and love of advocacy, culture, equity and dignity for people are the driving forces behind The Sozo Collectiv.

“In order for us as a people to become a part of a society that is meaningful, the system under which we now exist has to be radically changed. It means facing a system that does not lend itself to your needs,  and devising means by which you can change that system. That is easier said than done.”
